Supporting Spoken Language in the Classroom – call for East London cohort

Sheringham Teaching School Alliance are calling for replies regarding interest in creating an East London cohort for the IOE Centre Supporting Spoken Language in the Classroom programme.

SSLIC has a strong evidence base, both around improving children’s communication, and also linking longer term to improved mental health and wellbeing. Children and young people who can communicate well, and have rich vocab, are less likely to experience mental health issues at school.

The teaching school would like to put together a group of around 10 schools for the programme, to create a viable cohort. It costs £2.4K per school and it’s aimed at engaging the whole teaching team, and being a transformative programme.

If you are interested in taking part please reply to Julian Grenier julian.grenier@sheringham-nur.newham.sch.uk
or Kate Fallan  kate.fallan@kaizen.newham.sch.uk
